We arrived at Dallas Fort Worth International
Airport around 4 AM and park at Remote South Parking.
When you drive up to the machine you take the ticket and
keep it safe in your wallet. Be sure to write down where you park. Go inside the parking lot building and wait for
the Remote Parking South bus. The bus will take you
to the airport. There WiFi at DFW airport but is hard to get
it to work. Spirit Airlines will let you carry foods
onboard. The drinks from the vending machine at
DFW airport cost $2.25. This price is for both soda
and bottle of water. The price is the same at the gift
shop a few walks away. They might include the sale tax
at the gift shop. Coke cost $3 on the plane. Our flight
connection is at Fort Lauderdale. Pete saw whales
onboard the plane.
We ate at The BoatHouse Dockside Bar at
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
This restaurant is the least expensive restaurant we
ate in the continental United States airports.
Most airport restaurants in United States will cost
you an arms and a legs. There WiFi at
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International
Airport and is very good. The aiport is
aging. Pete was tired from the long flights.
The Virgin Islands is beautiful from the air.
We took taxi at Cyril E. King airport to Best Western
Emerald Beach Resort. It costs $15 for three of us. We
should walk instead. The Airport is very close to the hotel.
Before we arrived, the reception told us on the
telephone that the airport is fifteen minutes walk from
the airport. She is correct. Best Western website it
states that Best Western Emerald Beach Resort is closer
to the airport than the Best Western Carib Beach Resort.
Seem to us that Best Western Carib Beach Resort
is closer to the airport.
This is dfwkids third time in St. Thomas. The water in
St. Thomas is very blue compear to other islands in the
world we went to. We ate at Portobello Restaurant at
the resort. We ate seafood. The price is expensive
compear to restaurant such as Papadeaux. The lasagna
is salty. There were many pretty girls on the first day.
The swimming pool need to be renovate. The hotel is
overpice, but the location is very good. Good location
for snorkeling and catch some sleep on the beach.
Guests get free alcoholic drinks when you check in.
Coke cost $2.50. If you give the bar tender three dollars,
then coke will cost $3. The WiFi is not very good.
The next day we went to downtown Charlott Amarlie.
The taxi van drop us off at downtown Mcdonald.
Cost of the trip one way $15. The people of St. Thomas
looks nice. Charlott Amarlie looks a little rundown from
the last time dfwkids were here. There were two cruise
ships at the dock. We went to Big K-Mart at Tuta Park
Mall. Small mall, but it's enclose. Toys are expensive compear
to Texas. Pete bought a roaring dinosaur for about $20.
We walk across the street and ate at KFC.
We went back to the hotel on an open air taxi. The lady charges
us $12. Pete went for a swim and play on the beach until dawn.
Since the hotel is next to the airport there were many planes
in the sky. Our last day at St. Thomas we ate at Palm
restaurant at the resort. The atmosphere is very nice and
our adopt mother Velda is nice. She works at the restaurants.
We decide to walk to the airport terminal. We visited Lindbergh Bay
Park on the way. The park views is simply beautiful. Pete bought
an ice cream at the park. We arrived at Cyril E King airport
about 2PM. When you enter St. Thomas you are not require to
clear immigration. When you depart St. Thomas you will be
require to show your passport. Our flight got delayed for
about four hours. We ate at Hibiscus Restaurant at the airport.
Very expensive restaurant. It will cost you an arm
and a leg to eat here. We caught Spirit Airlines flight number 212
to Fort Lauderdale.
